The means of grace

Holy baptism

We believe, teach and confess that baptism is not simple water only but water comprehended in God’s command and connected with God’s Word. That Baptism works forgiveness of sins, delivers from death and the devil and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this, as the words and promises declare.

Sacrament of the altar

We believe, teach and confess that the Sacrament of the Altar is the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, under the bread and wine, for us Christians to eat and drink, instituted by Christ Himself. In this Sacrament believers receive the forgiveness of sins, life and salvation as the Lord Himself promises in His word that, “Given for you” and “shed for you for the forgiveness of sin” (Mat. 26: 26-28).

Service of the word

This forms the center of our Divine Service. Here the Word, both Law and Gospel is proclaimed and taught rightly. We remain keen that proper distinction between the Law and the Gospel is observed that the law does its purpose of revealing sin, proclaiming the wrath of God, condemning those who do not obey Him and show man his true sinful nature and that the Gospel is the gracious message of salvation through Jesus Christ, by which the Holy Spirit works faith in men and women thus saving them.
